Resources

Books, cancer organizations, patient groups, and numerous web sites are all available on caregiving and cancer. Information ranges from very basic to very complex... from credible to incredible… and from useful to useless. This section offers resource links to get you started.

Evaluating Information
In order to judge the usefulness and credibility of the information you encounter, you may want to ask yourself:

  • How relevant is this information to the decision or issue you are facing?
  • Is the material from a reputable source?
  • Are the author's name and credentials provided?
  • Has the data or information been reviewed by qualified experts?
  • Is the information up to date?
  • Does the author have financial interests that might influence their credibility on this subject?

Generally, ask yourself how much you trust the information you have and take action based on the information that has earned your trust.
